Agrobiodiversity for Improving Nutrition, Health and Life Quality

Agrobiodiversity for Improving Nutrition, Health and Life Quality is an Open access scientific journal published by the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra and the M. M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden (NBG) of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kiev, within the joint international network AgroBioNet. The Journal was formerly published as a serial with annual periodicity (proceedings of scientific papers) up to 2020 and from the year 2021 it is published in biannual periodicity (two issues per year).

The Preamble to the First Issue of the Journal (2021)

The proceedings of scientific papers Agrobiodiversity for Improving Nutrition, Health and Life Quality has been published as yearbook within the international network AgroBioNet up to 2020. The year 2021 brings a fundamental change in the form of a transformation into a scientific journal with a semi-annual periodicity (twice a year). Agrobiodiversity for Improving Nutrition, Health and Life Quality it will continue to be the official periodical of the international network AgroBioNet published in cooperation of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, Slovakia and M. M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden (NBG) at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv.


Aimed of this transformation is to ensure faster, dynamically, transfer of scientific knowledges about wild, traditional, forgotten, underutilized and less-known plant species towards the scientific and professional community, consumers and others interested in the issue. The primary goal will be the presentation of scientific papers of research teams and also Ph.D. students. In terms of topics, the Journal will be focused on presentation of current knowledges about economic value of plant species and their practical use to support food safety, food security and resources, improving nutrition, application in alternative forms of therapy, usage of plant species for the remediation of water, soil and the environment, the expansion of the cultivation of species for the bee pastures and pollinators, the use of less-known plant species in cosmetics and landscaping. Accepted types of papers are original scientific papers, short communications and review articles.
