The Preamble to an Innovative Journal
Agrobiodiversity for the Improvement of Nutrition, Health and Life Quality has been annually published as proceedings of scientific papers by the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, Slovakia and M. M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden (NBG) at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv within the international network AgroBioNet.
In the years of 2015 and 2016 has been Proceedings of Scientific papers published in print form only, since 2017 in online form as open access publication. The year 2021 is the year of the transformation of the publication from a yearbook to an open access scientific journal with a periodicity of twice a year. Journal will be continuously published with the same title Agrobiodiversity for Improving Nutrition, Health and Life Quality.
The journal will present original scientific papers aimed at the conservation and sustainable use of genetic resources of wild, traditional, forgotten, underutilized and less-known plant species. Scientific papers will be focused on the description and characteristics of the economic value of the plant species in a particular on taxonomy, biology, morphology, biochemistry, microbiology, nutrition, technological processing, sensory analysis, therapy, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and cultivation technologies. The main task of the published papers is to support increased food safety, food security, biosecurity, plant breeding and multiplication, organic food production, use of plant species to improve population health, alternative forms of therapy, environmental revitalization, improvement of socio-economic development, rural development and the creation of conditions for the development of the regional economy and support for the development of small and medium-sized agricultural holdings.
